Hidden Agenda

The focus is on three gay couples, in three countries, at three different points in their socio-political history. All three couples find themselves having to survive in an increasingly hostile environment, as their countries grapple with trying to re-establish family values, and re-assert their own nationhood’s in the face of a fast changing modern world and devastating aids statistics. The three sample countries we will focus on are Uganda, Malawi and South Africa, where debate, protest, government legislation and societal attitudes weave an often disturbing, sometimes liberating tapestry of a continent influx.
