In high school, they broke up to pursue their dreams. Who knew that pursing those dreams would end up bringing them back together?
After twenty years, Grace remembers high school like it was yesterday. Especially her boyfriend, Michael, right down to the jeans jacket and Air Jordans he wore on their first date. Michael was head over heels for Grace then, too. But that was 1989. It was high school. Young love doesn’t stand a chance when you grow up, move on, and move away. Now they wonder, whatever happened to that first love, and if somewhere there could be a moment when past and present collide. Sure there is. It’s the most dreaded of all inevitabilities: the high school reunion.
Today Michael oversees construction for a hotel chain. Grace is a partner in a very successful interior design firm. With a little convincing from Michael’s sister and from Grace’s cheerleader of a mother, the former sweethearts have each decided to give the reunion a shot. Surprised to run into each other after all these years, Grace and Michael reminisce over old times, and over what could have been if they hadn’t broken up. Now, they’re proceeding with the caution. The old flame is still there, but how real are the possibilities of rekindling it when it burned out once already?
