Melanie Stone has been married for eight years to Tom, Prison Warden of the Year 2006 and a candidate in the local mayoral election. They've been the most difficult years of her life - but soon a dramatic chain of events would change her world forever...

Melanie (SARAH WYNTER - 24, Windfall) has dedicated her life to helping the cold and controlling Tom (ERIC BREKER - Stargate SG-1) better himself, putting her own career plans on hold to teach at the prison where he works and fulfil her role as the doting wife at election drives, allowing criminals into her home to carry out community work. But her goodwill is put to the test when convicted murderer Jack Carlson (ANDREW WALKER - Lies and Deception) kidnaps her, forcing her to drive him off the premises incognito. After various failed attempts at escape, Melanie succumbs to her elusive captor, unable to ignore her attraction towards the articulate, sensitive and reputedly dangerous man who holds her hostage - all the while revealing to herself how much of a prison her life with Tom has been. Meanwhile, with the election looming, Tom uses his wife's abduction as a way to pick up points in the polls and sets his campaign manager to work.

Whilst on the run together, Melanie learns that Tom had bribed Jack to kidnap and murder Melanie in return for his freedom. Devastated by the betrayal of her husband, she later discovers that Jack has been serving a sentence for a crime he didn't commit. Together, the two of them continue the journey that Jack had originally planned, but this time with an impassioned agenda. Jack wants to clear his name and be a legitimate free man, while Melanie decides to face her fears and become the person she never thought she could be.
