Multi-million dollar productions Treasure Island and Neverland form the centrepiece of Power's new slate of programming at this month's Discop. Along with new mini series, including the much anticipated Blackout, and a slate of new movies from US producer RHI, this is a strong line-up of content for the CEE market from the UK distributor.
Neverland is the prequel to JM Barrie's classic Peter Pan and tells the story of how Hook and Pan became enemies. Rhys Ifans stars as Hook alongside Bob Hoskins, Anna Friel and Keira Knightley as Tinkerbell. Treasure Island features a stellar cast including Eddie Izzard as Long John Silver, Elijah Wood, Donald Sutherland and Philip Glenister. Both are four hour mini series that will be broadcast on Sky in the UK and Syfy in the US and are being tipped as some of the highest quality minis ever created. Action-packed cyber terrorism mini series Blackout is a Power-RHI co-production and stars Eric La Salle, Bruce Boxleitner - fresh from Tron: Legacy - James Brolin and Billy Zane.
Power CEO Danny Goldman comments: "We showcased Neverland, Treasure Island, Blackout and our new slate of movies at this year's LA Screenings and the reaction was overwhelming. We're looking forward to bringing this slate to CEE broadcasters at this years Discop and are hoping for a similar reaction."
