Multi-award winning European producer and distributor Power is pleased to announce the next phase in their ongoing business expansion, with the appointment of Sue Green, who will be heading up Powerlocal, a new division at Power.
As Managing Director of the new division, Sue will be responsible for the adaptation of existing concepts, as well as sourcing and creating new projects for local production worldwide. The primary focus of the division will be access and prime time serialised drama. Power has been distributing the Emmy award winning daytime soaps Guiding Light and As The World Turns, produced by TeleNext Media for Procter & Gamble Productions, for several years. Both will be a key part in Powerlocal's venture. Sue will also be focusing on entertainment, factual and reality programming and will taking charge of format development, acquisitions and sales.
Justin Bodle, CEO of Power said "Sue has been on our radar for a number of years and we have always been looking for the right moment to work with her. She is a unique and rare blend: a creative deal-maker, a strategic salesperson - and a fabulous producer to boot. We wouldn't want to launch such an important division under anyone less talented."
Sue commented "I have known Power for some time, having collaborated with them previously on a number of high profile and successful projects. Internationally, they are greatly respected and have a first class reputation as accomplished and experienced producers of top quality programming. I am delighted to be joining the Power team."
Sue Green first started working in television in 1990, with Reg Grundy Productions in the UK. In 2000 Sue became Managing Director, FremantleMedia Productions, Nordic Central and Eastern Europe, and in this role, personally set up and oversaw all aspects of Fremantle's local entertainment and drama production operations in the region, as well as managing the production, licensing and format acquisition activities. Sue was also the driving force behind the highly successful regional roll out of all Fremantle formats, and in particular Pop Idol, Britain's Got Talent, Farmer Wants A Wife and X Factor, and telenovela Betty La Fea. Sue left Fremantle in 2009.
